 DEENA WHAITIRI (Chair)
Deena is Chair of Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri Iwi Trust Board. She is also the Sorted Kainga Ora Facilitator / Navigator for the Chatham Islands Housing Partnership Trust. Deena grew up on Wharekauri, leaving to attend College in Nelson. She worked at Te Puni Kōkiri in Wellington before travelling and relocating abroad to Canada, returning back in 2014.

 BRENT SWANSON (Deputy Chair)

Brent is the National Aviation Safety Manager for the Department of Conservation (DOC), based in Tekapo, leading a small team improving training and operations for Aviation Assets for the Department he has previously held the position of operations manager at Aoraki Mt Cook and the Chatham Islands, Brent was previously a NZ Police officer for more than 30 years and involved in emergency management for a number of disasters including deployments overseas. He is also a volunteer senior firefighter at Lake Tekapo.
 TRACY PAGE (Member)

Tracy has lived on the Islands for more than 40 years and has been involved in several local committees promoting wellbeing and activities across the Island. She works for “FirstMate” supporting the Island’s fishing whanau. Tracey owns an Airbnb and looks after a farm and small nursery.

She is married to a local fisherman and they have 2 children. She is passionate about whanau, the environment & the Chatham Islands and enjoys gardening and the outdoors.

 DUNCAN RYAN (Member)

Born and bred on the Chatham Islands (Rēkohu, Wharekauri), and of Moriori and Māori descent, Duncan Ryan recently returned to the Chatham Islands with his young family, after living and working in Christchurch where he owned his own business. Duncan was recently appointed as the T’chieki Property Manager with the Hokotehi Moriori Trust, where he manages the build and upkeep of the Trust’s property portfolio and vehicle fleet. Duncan is based at Kōpinga Marae where he’s responsible for the maintenance of the Chatham Island’s Civil Defence base. With a passion for the great outdoors, Duncan is enjoying the best of what the Chatham Islands offers.

 LEVI LANAUZE (Member)
Levi grew up on Pitt Island and is now Farm Manager for the Hokotehi Moriori Trust where he manages the sheep and beef operations. Prior to this, Levi spent two years in Canada also managing beef operations. Levi has held many roles over the years in conservation including as a ranger for the Department of Conservation (DOC) and the Nelson City Council. Levi is currently a member of the DOC Chatham Islands Conservation Board. With a keen interest in beekeeping, Levi led a team of fellow beekeepers between 2017-2018. Levi enjoys playing sport and exploring the outdoors.
