Recruitment for Local Advisory Committee members

We’re recruiting members for our Chatham Islands and Tairāwhiti Local Advisory Committees

Are you well-connected, respected and able to provide insight into the views and concerns of diverse communities on the Chatham Islands or in Tairāwhiti. Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for bettering outcomes for your community?

We know some of the risks faced by your community. But you will know more. We need local people with the networks, knowledge and experience to join our LACs on the Chatham Islands and in Tairāwhiti.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand established the first seven Local Advisory Committees in June 2020. The Chatham Islands and Tairāwhiti LACs are two of these, and are now looking for new members to join each committee.

LACs provide independent advice to the Fire and Emergency Board on what communities value, their needs and the risks they face.

Joining our LACs on the Chatham Islands and in Tairāwhiti, you’ll have the opportunity to help to shape the future of Fire and Emergency’s support for communities by enabling us to better understand what matters - now and in the future.

This means we can better support communities to prepare for, respond to, and recover well from emergencies when they happen.
