Support services

If you are experiencing or have experienced unwanted behaviour it can be distressing and challenging.You can contact the Behaviour and Conduct Office (BCO) on 0800 470 951 for help in accessing support services.  A list of these services is below.

General Support Services

Safety, health and wellbeing support 

Vitae provides workplace wellbeing and employee assistance services, including counselling supportYou can call Vitae 24/7 on 0508 664 981,www.vitae.co.nz

External, independent, confidential counselling and support services are available for all personnel and immediate families, at no cost. Please contact the BCO directly if you would like to be put in contact with these support services.

Sexual harm 

Contact Safe to talk for free confidential contact with trained specialists in sexual harm on 0800 044 334 (open to everyone). directory for specialist support providers is also available at https://www.findsupport.co.nz/. We also have an online Information Sheet with support options for victims of sexual harm.  

People with harmful behaviour 

WellStopSafe Networkand Stop are community-based organisations that can provide assessment and treatment services for those with harmful sexual behaviour. 
 

Safe Network is based in Auckland and provides services in the upper North Island  

WellStop is based in Wellington and provides services in the lower North Island 

Stop is based in Christchurch and provides services across the South Island. 

 

Korowai Tumanako is a Kaupapa Maori organisation that supports whānau hapu and iwi affected by sexual violence and works with men who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour. They are based in Auckland.   

 

Hey Bro is setup for men who feel they’re going to harm a loved one or whanau member 

Kaupapa Māori services 

Korowai Tumanako offers support to iwi, hapu and whānau who have experienced sexual violence and works with men who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour. They are based in Auckland.   
 
Tu Wahine Trust offer kaupapa Māori counselling and therapy for survivors of sexual violence. 
 

Te Puna Oranga offers confidential counselling and support specialising in sexual harm.

RAINBOW community  

RAINBOW Youth support Queer and gender diverse youth in New Zealand. 
 

OUTline offer confidential and free support to LGBTIQ+ people. 

New Zealand Police 

Report threats of violence, actual physical violence or other criminal acts to the Police:
