HRIS Systems Administrator

Fire and Emergency is looking for an experienced PS Enterprise (PSe) System Administrator to join our HR Information Systems (HRIS) team until approximately December 2020.

This is a full-time role offered on a fixed term contract basis for parental leave cover | Based in Wellington City

This role is within the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) team and is responsible for the day to day administration and performance of our HRIS environment. Inherent within the role is the need to think beyond the immediate task and have due regard for the Fire and Emergency intent and anticipating future needs. 

On a typical working day, the appointee will perform a variety of system administration tasks such as:

  • Responding to end user queries and concerns
  • PSe system health checks
  • Maintaining user security profiles
  • Administering the PSe/HRIS Change Control Register, Production Schedule and Workplan
  • Testing new forms, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and workflow functions
  • Deploying new functionality and enhancements to all PSe environments
  • Configuring our systems to accommodate agreed employment obligations.

The salary range for this role is $82,000 – $91,000. 

The ideal person for this role will be self-driven with a passion for human resource systems, data, and analytics who enjoys working in a complex dynamic and resource constrained environment with the following skills:

  • PSe system administration experience (or equivalent e.g. SAP, Jade-star etc)
  • Advanced understanding of New Zealand HR/Payroll practices,
  • Advanced MS Excel; SQL Server Management Studio skills
  • Very good problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong business analysis, reporting and process improvement skills
  • Very good communications skills (written and oral).
