About the role

The ICT Integration Team is responsible for delivering ITC capability in order to enable the strategic business outcomes in line with FENZ’s new powers.

Projects in the pipeline for these roles include:

  • Risk Reduction Programme enabling technology
    • Compliance and Enforcement
    • Fire Engineering
    • Evacuation Schemes
  • Operational Readiness Audit
  • Enterprise Integration Platform
  • Pad Life Extension

The Project Manager works with and on behalf of business sponsors and business owners, to define and deliver projects, spanning the project and solution delivery lifecycle (SDLC) which may include initiation through to project closure and audit.

You will be responsible for Project management for a determined phase of specified projects which may include;

  • Providing Fire and Emergency New Zealand with general project management support in line with the Fire and Emergency New Zealand project methodology
  • Supporting and providing advice on project management best practice
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time to budget and agreed quality, all issues, risks and scope are managed effectively, communicating effectively with all stakeholders and providing progress monitoring and reporting.
  • Identifying resource requirements and managing internal, vendor and strategic partner deliverables.
  • Maintaining a repository of project documentation in line with the Fire and Emergency New Zealand methodology.
  • Working closely with the finance team and management accounts around queries relating to project financials, managing project budgets and financial forecasting, ensuring these are clear and in line with Fire and Emergency New Zealand policies.
  • Managing project staff as required during the management of a project (this could include BA, additional project support or SME resources)

About you

We are looking for a highly experienced project manager who can demonstrate the following

  • Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques and tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience in significant programme of work with multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to work autonomously while effectively engaging and communicating with others the details of the project as required.
  • Proven experience managing large scale IT and/or software implementation projects / programmes with a national delivery focus with experience of the following being advantageous;
    • establishing new organisations, shared services or new business units
    • impact analysis
    • ICT asset management and or due diligence of ICT
    • implementation and delivery, readiness and transition to business-as-usual and support arrangements
