Principal Advisor Portfolio Planning

We are seeking expressions of interest for a fixed term role (until approx. June 2020) of Principal Advisor Portfolio Planning, within the Portfolio Office based in our national headquarter, Wellington.

The Portfolio Office is responsible for providing structure, leadership, information, advice and support on investment decisions across the portfolio. The office ensures all investments in the portfolio are contributing to, and delivering against, strategic priorities by taking into consideration of our fiscal envelope, resources and ability to absorb changes.  

In addition the Portfolio Office will be responsible for assisting the Executive leadership team to define the investment portfolio that delivers best value, and optimises the utilization of our resources across Fire and Emergency.

The purpose of this position is to lead portfolio planning and undertake robust analysis of the performance of the portfolio, and ensure quality information and advice are provided to the Investment Panel to inform investment decision making. 

The Principal Advisor Portfolio Planning also supports the development and ongoing management of a balanced portfolio to ensure the achievement of FENZ’s strategic objectives through the successful delivery of the portfolio through the Long-Term Investment Plan (LTIP) and benefits realisation framework. 

The ideal applicant:

  • • Extensive experience working in a portfolio management function
  • • Significant experience with portfolio planning and documenting portfolio management processes
  • • Strong financial analysis and forecasting background 
  • • Strong communication skills including producing high-quality reports and documents for governance committees
  • • Experience working with portfolio prioritisation
  • • Experience with project & portfolio management systems and experience in data analysis and report design/development.
  • • Experience facilitating workshops 
  • • PMP/MoP certification desired but not required.

The remuneration range for this role is $118,146– $131,274 per annum. We are also open to Secondment opportunities.
