About the role

To help deliver on our values Fire and Emergency are looking to build our business analysis capability. This will help the organisation to deliver the business changes needed to make to provide the services to our firefighters and to our communities.  To support this capability development, we are looking to appoint a Principal Business Analysis to:

  • Build the organization’s Business Analysis capability through mentoring and coaching
  • Support the recruitment of Business and change focused analysts
  • Help develop the capability of business and change focused analysts
  • Help create a sustainable business analyst operating model
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the Fire and Emergency Investment Management Framework
  • Provide thought leadership (what does the capability need to be),
  • Deliver a business analysis approach, products and tools

The role sits in the Investment and Portfolio team, who act as the organisation's “trusted navigator” in the development and maintenance of Fire and Emergency’s Investment Management Framework, and the portfolio and project management capability.

About you

You will be an experienced business analyst, with a wide and varied toolbox of skills who able to operate at all levels of an organisation. You will know how to use business analysis to provide different people in the organisation with the information in a format they need to make the best possible decisions.

You will have a curiosity for understanding how organisations work and know what it takes to build a good business analyst and be able to demonstrate the ability to build business analysis capabilities within an organisation, either as part of an overall project/programme/portfolio approach or as a standalone capability.

You will have worked across change projects and demonstrated leadership within those projects.  You will have at least 5 years working in a structured business analysis environment.  

You will have sufficient experience and credibility to be highly respected by the delivery community and other leaders across the organisation with proven ability to develop trust and credibility with senior managers and staff to effectively bring about accepted solutions to challenges.
