Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an additional Region Property Coordinator to join our busy team based out of Dunedin.  

Reporting to the Property Project Manager Region 5 this position will be part of a team of two supporting and covering around 120 sites across the lower half of the South Island. 

The primary responsibilities are to work with the current Property Coordinator in managing the maintenance of Fire and Emergency leased and owned properties within this area.  You will be liaising with external providers and contractors to ensure the effective scheduling and oversight of planned, programmed and emergency maintenance of our sites. Along with your above average computer literacy, excellent written and oral communication and your attention to detail, the ideal candidate will also have:

  • An extensive background from within the construction industry
  • A well-developed knowledge of building materials and legislation
  • Budgeting experience
  • Proven experience working with contractors and in contractor management
  • The ability to work autonomously to meet the needs of your clients
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills
  • The ability to maintain consistent standards with a nationally dispersed team
