Otahuhu Scrap Yard Fire Update #2

A large fire at a scrap yard in Otahuhu has been contained and firefighters are working on hotspots. Roads around Saleyards Rd in Otahuhu are still closed.

People are advised to stay away from the area and anyone living nearby should continue to keep doors and windows shut to avoid being exposed to the smoke.

Fire and Emergency received multiple calls about the fire, which was first reported shortly after 10pm. A large number of crews are still at the scene early this morning.
