This section explains our curriculum-based programmes and resources for primary aged children used by teachers and schools. The education resources in our school programmes are designed to be delivered by teachers and Kaiako for Years 1 and 2.
The Get Firewise programme is a curriculum-based resource that gives children of primary age the knowledge and behaviour they need to stay fire safe and escape from a burning building.
Māui-tinei-ahi is a fire-safety programme produced by Fire and Emergency New Zealand for year 1 and 2 students in Māori-medium classrooms.
Get Out! Stay Out! is an early childhood education school fire-safety programme for pre-school children aged from two to five years old.
These Māori-medium resources for kōhanga reo and puna akoranga complement more advanced fire-safety resources in te reo Māori that tamariki meet when they start primary school.
