Large grass fire near Seddon contained

Firefighters have now contained the fire and are commencing mopup. 

An invesitgation into the cause of the fire will take place.

12PM

Firefighters are responding to a large grass fire in the Seddon area of Marlborough.

The first call came in around 10.50am, with the fire now approximately four hectares in size.

There are 10 trucks, three helicopters and support vehicles responding from around the Marlborough District working to bring the fire under control.

A vineyard in the area has been evacuated as a precaution.

All members of the public are advised to avoid the area as not to hamper the firefighting efforts while firefighters get this fire contained.
